OREANDA-NEWS.  On 05 March 2009 Interpipe had announced that from February 2009 it will supply railway wheels to Greek Railway Company (OSE) under the KLW brand for railway rolling-stocks.

Under terms of the contract, Interpipe will supply Greece with two types of railway wheels - 1100 mm diameter wheels designed for locomotives and 920 mm diameter ones for passenger and freight trains. This contract will have a total estimated worth of 7 million Euros. All of the railway wheels supplied are produced in compliance with the standard EN 13262.

Michael Iskov, Director of Sales for Railway Wheels at Interpipe said:

“We have already had positive experiences in supplying wheels to Greece. However, this contract is different. It has its own technical specifications, as web drilling for brakes must be executed with extreme accuracy. A delegation from Greece’s rolling-stock department visited the Interpipe NTRP mill in January and was pleased with the execution of the initial order. As a result, the contract for supplying railway wheels was signed”.

Interpipe won the tender for the supply of railway wheels to OSE in August 2008.
