OREANDA-NEWS. On 05 March 2009 was announced, that the Arbitration Court of the city of Moscow held a hearing on January 27, 2009, at which it rejected tax claims filed by Inter-Regional Tax Inspectorate No 7 of Russia’s Federal Internal Revenue Service in charge of large taxpayers against OJSC VolgaTelecom based on the results of integrated field tax inspection of OJSC VolgaTelecom’s operations for 2004-2006. From hearing of the case the Court in full invalidated the tax claims against VolgaTelecom to the amount of RUB 173.011 million.

The judgement of holding VolgaTelecom accountable for tax offence was rendered on April 30, 2008. The taxation authorities’ claims to the Company totaled RUB 173.314 million, of which RUB 163.481 million - taxes and dues and RUB 9.833 million – penalties and late payment interest. The principal amount of claims was related with the issues of intraoperators’ settlements for connection and traffic transit.
