OREANDA-NEWS. March 4, 2009.  Representatives of JSC TransContainer and Belintertrans, affiliate and official forwarder of Belarusian railway, signed a cooperation agreement.

According to this agreement, Belintertrans will organize transportation of JSC TransContainer loaded and empty platforms and containers within Belarus and promote their efficient utilization.

The agreement was signed after the meeting that focused on determination of container-fitting freight base within Belarus and beyond, promotion of forwarding services with the use of JSC TransContainer fleet and calculation of tariffs for container freight transportation between Russia and Belarus.

According to JSC TransContainer General Director Petr Baskakov, the both parties have revised the status of JSC TransContainer rolling-stock so that now its fitting platforms will be regarded as private rather than inventoried stock in Belarus. "This decision will help eliminate shortage of rolling stock in Belarus", says Mr. Baskakov.

Belintertrans will organize transportation of JSC TransContainer loaded and empty platforms and containers in Belarus including transit traffic and use the company's fleet to meet its clients' needs. "Our partners will monitor the state of our fleet and put it into repair if necessary", stressed Mr. Baskakov.

The cooperation between JSC TransContainer and Belintertrans will contribute to railway freight transportation and bundled service development in Belarus and Russia as well as to container traffic between EU and Asia-Pacific regions.
