Ukrainian Gas Debtor Companies to Be Returned to State Ownership
OREANDA-NEWS On 04 March was announced, that the Ukrainian Government will initiate an insolvency procedure of the regional gas supply companies in case of untimely payments for gas or insist on their transfer to the state ownership. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko disclosed this today at a meeting on the issues of payments for consumed natural gas.
“If the oblgas (regional gas) companies fail to pay for the gas, the Government will initiate their insolvency procedure or submit the relevant bill to the Verkhovna Rada on returning oblgas companies to the state ownership,” the Head of Government noted.
Yulia Tymoshenko stated that the Government would not observe such level of payments calmly and also would bar from making it chargeable for non-payments, “I won’t let all of you, including the regions governed by the Party of Regions, to make the Government chargeable”.
Yulia Tymoshenko noted that during the today’s meeting it is necessary to find all ways of payments for the gas. “We will demand from every head to pay and if they fail, we will make a request to the Tax Administration, CRO, General Office of Public Prosecutor to investigate finally every concrete payer for the natural gas,” the Prime Minister stressed.
