OREANDA-NEWS  On 04 March was announced, that Yulia Tymoshenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, calls on heat community energy companies and regional gas companies to timely pay off for the consumed natural gas. She announced during her meeting into the issues of payments for gas today.

The Premier reminded Ukrainian-Russian gas deals envisage payments for the consumed amounts of gas while the rest of countries make up-front payments. “But the same contracts contain that, in case Ukraine fails to pay back to the Russian Federation all the necessary money for the amount of consumed gas, we will transfer to an up-front principle. If we don’t manage to pay off, we will stay without gas again,” Yulia Tymoshenko explained.

The Prime Minister is also convinced, if Ukraine fails to pay off for the consumed natural gas the European Union will back gas cutoffs for our state: “Debtors can never gain any respect or compassion,” she added.

Yulia Tymoshenko accentuated Ukraine should change the attitude to gas consumption and payments for that: “We have survived so many stressful situations in gas supply system, that it forces us to change our attitude to the “blue fuel” and to the issues of payment for the consumed natural gas”.
