National Exhibition of Turkmenistan Opened in Tashkent
OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 March 2009 was announced, that the national exhibition of Turkmenistan opened in Tashkent on 25 February. This is the first exhibition of the country's economic achievements organized outside Turkmenistan. The large-scale exhibition demonstrates products and capacities of nearly all branches of Turkmen economy. It occupies two big halls of the Uzexpocenter, the largest exhibition facility of Uzbekistan.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on the official visit to Tashkent, and Uzbek President Islam Karimov attended the opening ceremony. Touring the exhibition, the heads of state viewed all pavilions and inquired about export capacity of every participant and prospects for further cooperation.
250 exhibitors arranged their stands at the Uzexpocenter. They represented all five provinces of Turkmenistan, ministries and organizations, including subsidiary organizations of the fuel-energy sector, agricultural sector, textile industry, transport and communication, the Association of Food Industry, the State Fishing Committee, the Turkmen Horses State Association, the State Committee for Sports and Tourism and other. The ministry of health care and medical industry, the ministry of education, the Supreme Council for Science and Technologies and the State Printing Service of Turkmenistan also participated.
37 state organizations as well as private entrepreneurs and producers presented their goods at the exhibition. The private sector exhibitors included Doganlar, Hazar, Ussatlar private enterprises, Ak Tam and Gulzaman companies and other companies specializing in different spheres.
National culture and traditional Turkmen crafts occupied a separate space at the exhibition. This section featured samples of decorative-applied art, jewelries and carpets. Famous Turkmen carpets were displayed in the exhibition's largest pavilion.
