OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 March 2009 was announced, that on the instructions of the president of Turkmenistan, chairperson on the parliament of Turkmenistan Akja Nurberdiyeva accepted credentials from Marcelo de la Caridad Caballero Torres, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Turkmenistan.

During the exchange of views on the prospects for the interstate cooperation, the sides discussed promising areas of partnership, particularly healthcare as well as recreation and tourism. The ambassador said that despite geographic distance great prospects open up for development of the mutually beneficial cooperation serving the interests of Turkmen and Cuban people, the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH) said.
