OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 March 2009 was announced, that despite the fact that according to the tentative data passenger traffic in the Russian Federation in January 2009 decreased on average by 10-12%, according to January results 2009 the passenger traffic at Pulkovo Airport had a total enrolment of 377 469 people, which is only 8,3% less than it was in January 2008, including:

International airlines passenger traffic to foreign countries in January 2009 had a total enrolment of 171 331 people, which is 6,2% less than the number of passengers carried in January 2008.

Domestic airlines passenger traffic had a total enrolment of 170 752 people, which is 13,5% less than in January 2008.

Passenger traffic to the countries of CIS increased by 12,7% and had a total enrolment of 35 386 people.

The number of takeoff and landing operations decreased by 9,9% in January 2009 and had a total enrolment of 5 966 takeoffs and landings.

The volume of handled gross take-off weight (GTOW) is 210 076 tons, the decrease is 7,1% as compared with January 2008.

Against background branch activities work results at Pulkovo Airport in January 2009 seems to be more encouraging. Such favourable results were achieved owing to the increase of passenger traffic to the countries of CIS and keeping moderate recession of the passenger traffic to foreign countries.
