UNDP Proposes to Expand Group of Economic Incentives
OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 March 2009 was announced, that in the light of ongoing public discussion of the law draft "On energy saving", the UNDP has developed a set of recommendations to expand the group of economic incentives in energy-saving policy. UNDP energy efficiency experts say that the best instrument to increase the level of energy-saving in the country might be economic incentitives. It is obvious that this factor could become key for potential investors in their decisions to purchase equipment needed for energy saving.
The law draft "On energy-saving", according to the UNDP specialists, could include specific stipulations to create favorable conditions for the interested players of the market - producers and consumers of the electric and heating energy. Recommendation authors hope that the new law will incorporate these necessities.
