Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan Prepare Common Customs Tariffs
OREANDA-NEWS On 02 March was announced, that the common customs tariff of the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan should be prepared by April 1, 2009. The decision was made at Moscow sessions of the EurAsEC Integration Committee and the Customs Union Commission.
The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov. The delegation included First Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Petrishenko, heads of other national state administration agencies.
The session of the EurAsEC Integration Committee considered a draft agreement on sharing confidential information between authorised bodies in charge of regulating securities markets of EurAsEC member-states for the sake of protecting interests of investors. Participants of the session also discussed a draft Food Security Concept, measures aimed at forming the EurAsEC Common Transport Space, a draft plan of top-priority measures required to realise the adjusted social policy concept. Besides, the parties considered the progress in preparations for the culture festival of EurAsEC nations. The event is supposed to take place in Minsk and oblast cities of Belarus on May 13-17, 2009.
Participants of the session of the Customs Union Commission talked over the fulfilment of the plan of actions required to form the EurAsEC Customs Union, progress in the work on the draft Customs Code of the Customs Union and the draft Common Customs Tariff, the state of affairs in the development and realisation of interstate and national programmes aimed at creating computerised information systems for customs agencies of the parties.
