Vladimir Shamakhov Appointed Vice Chairman of Sviaz-Bank
OREANDA-NEWS On 27 February was announced, that following approval by the Moscow Office of the Bank of Russia, Vladimir Shamakhov appointed Vice Chairman and member of Sviaz-Bank’s Management Board.
Mr. Shamakhov was born in Moscow Region in 1952. In 1974, he graduated from the Admiral Makarov Higher Naval Engineering School in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), and then, in 1979, the Higher Youth League School with distinction. He holds a master’s degree in history and a doctorate in economics.
Vladimir Shamakhov got his first job in 1974. Between June 1990 and December 1993, he was deputy chief of the Northwestern Department of the Russian Federation’s State Customs Controls, whereupon, between late 1993 and late 1995, Mr. Shamakhov was chief of the Human Resources and Educational Institutions Department of the Russian Federation’s State Customs Committee. In December 1995, he was made head of the Northwestern Department of the State Customs Controls of the Russian Federation, and remained in that position until September 2002.
Between September 2002 and November 2004, Mr. Shamakhov held the office of Rector of the Northwestern Public Service Academy. Between November 2004 and April 2007, he was first deputy chief of the Federal Customs Service, and then he was appointed deputy office chief of the Russian Federation’s Government.
Mr. Shamakhov joined Sviaz-Bank in December 2008 as Counsel to the Bank’s President-Management Board Chairman.
