Aeroflot and Malev Renew Contacts
OREANDA-NEWS On 27 February was announced, that Aeroflot and Malev will once again operate joint services between Budapest and Moscow starting from the summer timetable. Parallel with the entry into force of the code-share agreement on combined operations Malev services will return to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport, the Aeroflot hub.
As a result of the cooperation between the leading carriers of Hungary and Russia, passengers of Malev and Aeroflot can once again select from two flights a day between the two capitals starting from the beginning of the summer timetable i.e. from 29 March 2009. Malev will operate its Next-Generation Boeing 737s on the code-share route, and Aeroflot will fly its Airbus A319 aircraft. In line with the free sale-based code-share arrangement, both Malev and Aeroflot place their own marketing codes (MA and SU, respectively) on the other airline’s service.
Both airlines expect the harmonization of operations – guaranteeing convenient connecting flights – to further strengthen traffic on the route. At present Malev’s Moscow service has excellent connections to destinations in West and Southeast Europe.
This is not the first time that the two airlines have cooperated. From 2002 right up until 30 March 2008, Malev and Aeroflot operated their flights between the two capitals under a similar agreement.
Aeroflot and Malev direct Budapest–Moscow code-share flights (all times local).
