OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 February 2009 was announced, that Khabarovskaya CHPP-2 celebrates its 75th anniversary. This is the oldest power staion of Khabarovsky krai.

Khabarovskaya CHPP-2 is the structural division of “Khabarovskaya Heat and Network Company” (KhTSK) a branch of JSC “Far Eastern Generating Company”. Khabarovskaya CHPP-2 is operating only in heating season, providing heat power to central part of the krai’s capital. Heat power is produced 9 boilers with total installed capacity Gcal/h 610. Heat and hot water is supplied to 685 dwelling houses, 12 schools, 23 kindergartens, 32 medical institutions in the Central ad a part of Northern district of Khabarovsk.

During its history the CHPP had underwent several reconstructions. Originally the power station operated on fire woods. Than it stated burn coal. In the 70-s of the last century it was transferred to usage of fuel oil. The last reconstruction had fulfilled in the last year, when the boilers of CHPP-2 were reequipped for acceptance of natural gas.

Usage of Sakhalin shelf gas has considerably increased efficiency of the company. The gas prices are more stable than for fuel oil. Besides that, usage of natural gas allows to increase boilers overhaul period at CHPP, due to gas is less aggressive fuel than fuel oil.

Transfer CHPP-2 for gas has also allow considerably improve the environmental situation in the center of the city, due to gas, unlike fuel oil, has practically no polluting emission in the environment. At the same time the fuel oil is still remains the back up fuel, that heighten the operational reliability of the company.

Thus, its jubilee CHPP-2 celebrates fully renewed. The equipment, installed at the station, is the most modern in the Far East. There are a lot of prospects open in front of it.

The branch consists of structural divisions: Khabarovskiye Heat Networks, (Khabarovsk city and Khabarovsky district), Komsomolskiye Heat Networks (Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Amursk), Khabarovskaya CHPP-2, Birobidjanskaya CHPP, Urgalskaya CES (settlement Tses of Verkhne-Bureinsky district), which are in charge of vunicipal heating of the population, living in Khabarovsky krai and Jewish Autonomous oblast.
