OREANDA-NEWS  On 26 February was announced, that the Ukrainian Government approved a series of statutory-legal acts aimed at solving the problem issues in the sphere of motor freight carriers.

With the purpose to protect the domestic motor carriers it is proposed to amend article 5 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Tax on Owners of Transport Vehicles and Other Self-Propelled Vehicles and Mechanisms”. In particular, it is proposed to reduce a financial load for the subjects of small and average business engaged in passenger traffic and freight transport.

At the same time the officials have approved the bill “On amending some legislative acts of Ukraine on conducting the public control (supervision) in the sphere of motor transport” aimed at improving the organization of international traffic. In particular, the size of fine for violation by residents and non-residents of Ukraine of the requirements on passenger traffic and freight transport through Ukraine has been increased from fifty to one thousand non-taxable minimums.

The Government has also amended the Order of conducting the public control of motor transport that will allow to coordinate the procedure of holding raid check-ups and to increase the passenger traffic and freight transport safety.

In order to protect the interests of subjects of economic activity under conditions of the essential impact of the global financial crisis, the measures on stabilization of prices for the domestic freight service were elaborated. Thus, the minimal level of tariffs for freight transport in domestic services with the purpose to prevent dumping on the part of separate subjects has been fixed.

Moreover, a bill “On amending some laws of Ukraine (on licensing the economical activity of transport-forwarding services)” has been approved and the List of documents necessary for domestic freight transport endorsed at the Government’s sitting.
