Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works Gradually Ramps up Production
OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2009. Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works named after Kuzmin, JSC (NMZ) resumes production in previous volumes of output. The Works put into operation all main technological lines – hot rolling mill 810, pipe mills 20-102, 20-114 (№1 and №2), 10-50, cutting lines 450, 460, 740, 850, 420.
In February 2009, the Works plans to produce 9,107 t of steel products, including 2,069 t of commercial steel bars and 7,038 t of pipes. The shipment plan in February will be 9,453 t.
In March the volumes of output will increase. The production plan will include 13,977 t, including pipes – 10,233 t and commercial steel bars – 3,764 t. The shipment plan in March will be 15,400 t.
Lack of stability in the operation of the Works is caused by another rise in prices for slab and its non-regular supplies. Increase in volumes of output is connected with the increasing number of orders due to the beginning of the repair works season at communal and housing objects.
