Tymoshenko Proposes Help to Citizens with Mortgaged Apartments
OREANDA-NEWS On 24 February was announced, that Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko initiates a meeting with the leaders of parliamentary factions to discuss the issues on the security of mortgaged dwellings. The Head of Government stated today during a meeting with the representatives of motor freight carrier associations and unions.
“We will assemble with the leaders of all factions, I will initiate this closed meeting… We have to handle this issue in detail because a dwelling in which the family resides – is the last barricade that can’t be surrendered,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
Yulia Tymoshenko noted that the Government, according to the Constitution, does not bear influence on the banking system of the country, “The Government, unfortunately, can’t force commercial banks or the National Bank to do something”.
At the same time, addressing the motor carriers who had mortgaged their apartments to obtain credits against business, the Prime Minister promised that the Government would try at legislative level to fight that their families were not evicted. “The dwelling for a person, the apartment – is the most important… I am confident, as regards the dwelling – it is inviolable on the whole,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
