OREANDA-NEWS  On 24 February was announced, that Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov held sitting on the national O&G sector prospects.

The sitting focused on major vectors of the Comprehensive Plan to develop Kazakhstan-based oil refineries in 2009-2015 which had been worked out upon respective instruction of President N. Nazarbayev.

February 18, the Government’s House in Asana hosted a sitting on development of the national oil and gas sector. The sitting was presided over by the country’s PM Karim Massimov; among those in attendance were heads of public bodies, representatives of the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund and those of national companies.

The sitting focused on major vectors of the Comprehensive Plan to develop Kazakhstan-based oil refineries in 2009-2015 which had been worked out upon respective instruction of President N. Nazarbayev.

The attendees pointed out that development of refineries is an important contribution to the nation’s energy security, notably in terms of meeting the domestic demand for petroleum products such as petrol, diesel and jet fuel.

The said Comprehensive Plan envisages overhaul of the existing facilities, construction of new ones and expansion of transport infrastructure of all the three refineries currently in operation in Kazakhstan.

The sitting also dwelt on large-scaled investment projects related to extraction, processing and transportation of gas.
