Aggregate Capital of Uzbek Banks Reaches 2.104 trln Soums
OREANDA-NEWS On 24 February was announced, that aggregate capital of Uzbek banks reached 2.104 trillion soums as of 1 January 2009, the Uzbek President Islam Karimov said at the meeting of the government.
Uzbek president said the aggregate capital of the bank rose by 40% in 2008 compared to 2007.
Uzbek head said that the bank increased their capital in 2008. In particular, the People's Bank and Uzpromstroybank increased its charter capital to 100 billion soums, while Microcreditbank raised its authorized capital to 141.5 billion soums.
Islam Karimov said that shares of 17 commercial banks were included to official listing of the stock exchange. He said that number of shareholders at the banks reached about 23,663 and about 98% of them is individuals.
