European Commission Will Provide EUR 62.3 mln of Aid to Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS On 20 February was announced, that the Moldavian Government will commence negotiations on signing the National Actions Program with the 62.3 million euros budget with the European Commission. The Government hopes to receive that money as gratuitous aid. The program has three components. Under the first one – the Program of supporting the budget for financing the reform in health care – the budget will receive 42 million euros including 16.6 million euros allocated for Moldova as a bonus for achievements in implementation of the Moldova-EU Plan of Actions.
The funds will be allocated by three installments. The first one in the amount of 12 million euros will be provided without any conditions in the first quarter of 2009. Another two installments worth 15 million each will be allocated in early 2010 and early 2011 on conditions that certain indicators have been achieved. Financial assistance’s first component also stipulates allocation of 4.6 million euros as technical assistance for the assessment support to national authorities for the purpose of implementation of measures planned by respective policies.
The second component of the European Commission’s aid in the amount of 10 million euros is meant for improving border and migration management. The third component (5.7 million euros) envisages lauch of twinning porjects and provision of tecnical assistance in reforming and modernization of tax administation, support to the National Justics Institute and others.
