OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 February 2009 was announced, that the decline in industrial output of Ukraine in January 2009 versus comparable period of 2008, accelerated to 34.1% as against 26.6% in December, 28.6% - in November and 19.8% - in October 2008.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, as against December 2008 the industrial output in Ukraine in January 2009 fell by 16.1%.

In particular, its upstream and downstream industry demonstrated decline by 34.1% (January 2009 vs. January 2008), light industry – by 38.4%, in chemical and petrochemical – by 49.6%, in machine engineering – by 58.3%.

We would like to remind the reader that the Ukrainian industrial output in 2008 vs. 2007 shrank 3.1%.
