UTair Tests Navigational Equipment for Helicopters
OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 February 2009 was announced, that check and flight tests of short-range navigation equipment and the landing of the helicopter Mi-8PC took place on the productive-technical base of JSC UTair Aviation
The tests included daily and night flights with the production of exact landing approaches to the airports, equipped with the ILS system and also the production of inexact approaches by the signals of VOR radio beacons.
Test flights were performed by the crew consisting of leading flying and technical specialists of UTair Aviation under the surveillance of a test pilot of NTI Nikolay Kolpakov.
The conclusion to fix the minimum for helicopter Mi-8PS RA-24272 for landing in ILS, VOR/DME 60X600 metre regimes was made; this will enable to perform the flights in difficult weather conditions with landings in the airports, fitted with navigational and landing equipment ILS and VOR/DME.
