OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 February 2009 was announced, that IDGC of Centre sums up the 2008 Environmental Policy realization. The Company assigned over RUR 22.5 million for the environmental programs.

The development of the environmental policy is one of IDGC of Centre's priority business lines. The primary goals in the field of the 2008 environmental programs realization became a strengthening of the control over observance of requirements of rules and norms of the nature protection laws, minimization of influence on the environment, continuous improvement of the level of environmental safety during the company's industrial activities.

The program of the company environmental policy realization for 2008 was executed both regarding the planned actions, and regarding the volume of financing in its separate parts: the protection of atmospheric air, protection and rational use of water resources, land and technical actions.

Within the limits of the environmental program, training on improvement of professional skills of heads and employees of the executive office and the branches responsible for performance of the environmental aspects of industrial activities are held; the improvement of corporate normative and legal, technical and technological base in the sphere of preservation of the environment is continued.

In 2008 the company continued performance of works on implementation of, and preparation for certification of the integrated quality management system (QMS) on the basis of ISO 14001:2001 and ISO 9001:2000 international standards. In particular, Yarenergo branch of IDGC of Centre, JSC, which was chosen as a "pilot" platform, developed, documented and prepared for certification the system of the environmental management. In 2009, an implementation of the system of the environmental management and certification under the international standard will be realized within the limits of QMS in all branches of IDGC of Centre, JSC.

Besides, IDGC of Centre defined the main lines of realization of the environmental policy on preservation of the environment for 2008 - 2015, and updated the Program of realization of the environmental policy for 2008 - 2010 in each branch.

Deputy General Director for Technical Policy of IDGC of Centre, JSC, Sergey Shumakher said, "A complex approach to protection of the environment will allow the company in the future to provide an effective functioning and development of grid facilities and to guarantee meeting the main parameters of reliability and safety."
