OREANDA-NEWS  On 19 February was announced, that Dneprospetsstal purchases a new ground-and-polish line by Loeser, Germany, for rolled stock processing. The project aim is enhancing of product finishing, first of all, for stainless tubing billet production. Rated capacity of the line is 21 ths tons of rolled stock per year.

This equipment will allow us to bring roughness values in line with requirements of European consumers. The line enables to reduce surface roughness values of finished product 7 to 10 times.

Such equipment will enable Dneprospetsstal to introduce a new product type in the market that will have surface roughness Ra up to 0.6 for size range 120…280 mm including stainless tubular billet of steel grades 1.4404 (316L); 1.4306 (304L); 1.4571 (316 Ti); 1.4000 (410 S); 1.4541 (321); 1.4550 (347); 1.4842 (310S), Igor Bogdanov, head of investment project department, explains.

As Sergey Kalashnik, deputy general director for production, told, in March during production tests at the company’s facilities in Germany, Dneprospetsstal’s representatives will witness performance of the equipment, its technological and production parameters. The line’s unique features will provide processing of billet up to 2.5 tons in weight, while traditionally, the Loeser’s analogical equipment is meant for light bar processing. In April 2009 line commissioning is scheduled.
