OREANDA-NEWS On 17 February 2009 was announced, that Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received director general of the KamAZ-Master team Semen Yakubov and representatives of KAMAZ FTC Corp Sergei Tkachenko and Arthur Murashkin.

KamAZ representatives told the president that the Kazan-Ashgabat rally aroused great interest around the world, and the rally's organizing committee had already received more than three hundred applications for participation in the rally. The sides also discussed preparations for the forthcoming motor rally.

The guests presented a special cup to the leader of Turkmenistan which was instituted by the organizing committee of Silk Road rally taking into account Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's contribution to the development of motor sport. The organizing committee is also representing the International Motor Federation.

The president was also awarded a special certificate along with the cup as well as a helmet, a winner diadem, a mini model of the old racing car and a calendar with signatures of famous Russian racers, winners of Paris-Dakar rally.
