OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2009. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the construction projects designed by the architects of well-known French Bouygues Company. The cabinet ministers, the high-ranking officials of the Mejlis and ministries and departments attended the presentation. The French partners were represented by Martin Bouygues, CEO of Bouygues Company, Olivier-Marie Racine, Director General of Bouygues Batiment International, Charles Santer, Regional Director of Bouygues Company and Alexey Reshov, Commercial Director for Central Asia.

The French partners presented the film illustrating the company’s architectural, engineering and design decisions of the large-scale facilities under construction or to be constructed in Ashgabat. In particular, the layout of rooms, interior design including furniture of the fashionable Oguzkent hotel that was under construction on Neutrality Avenue and the model of the palace complex which would be built in the historical centre of the Turkmen capital were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

Then the President considered the project on reconstruction and development of the Ashgabat International Airport. The CEO of Bouygues Company assured the Turkmen leader that the construction works would not hampered the operating schedule of the airport.

On the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan the French partners had prepared the draft designs of the Ashgabat Khyaklimlik building and provided the detailed commentaries.

The Bouygues top managers presented the project providing for expanding the area of the Mejlis building.

The French partners presented the projects on construction of the buildings of the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute, the next turn of the University campus including the Institute of International Affairs and the Faculty of Geography. Upon thoroughly considering these projects Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved them as a whole and focused on the importance of strengthening the material and technical base of the national educational system as an essential factor of training specialists of a new formation able to ensure the further progress of Turkmenistan.

Touching upon the other project the President said that they needed revising in concept and functionality. In this regard the President gave relevant instructions to the cabinet ministers and high-ranking officials of the Mejlis.

Mr. Martin Bouygues informed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of the progress of other construction projects including the complex which would house the offices of the public organisations – members of Galkynysh National Movement, the buildings of the MFA, Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communications and Turkmenhaly State Joint Stock Corporation.

Then the President and the CEO of Bouygues Company discussed the important aspects of further cooperation in compliance with the priorities of the policy of the Turkmen state. The issues of training building and construction industry specialists for Turkmenistan were a focus of the talks. Mr. Martin Bouygues said that his company completely supported the Turkmen leader’s approaches to these issues and stood ready to expand cooperation in this field. The guest assured the Turkmen leader that the Bouygues Company put every effort so that its work would meet the high demands made to the quality of construction works and period of construction in Turkmenistan.

In conclusion Mr. Martin Bouygues thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the opportunity of a personal meeting and cordially congratulated the Turkmen leader of the second anniversary of electing President of Turkmenistan and coming Flag Day and wished good health, happiness and new accomplishments in implementing the grandiose plans of development of the country.
