OREANDA-NEWS  On 17 February was announced, that the General Motors Powertrain Uzbekistan Joint Company will be equipped with a unique technology on casting aluminum cylinder heads.

The Vice-President of GM Powertrain Europe Michael Arkamone said that such kind of production existed neither in Europe nor in Central Asia. It is going to be put into operation in Tashkent Province and will manufacture small thrifty gasoline engines with the volume from one up to one and half liters that are bound for both domestic market and overseas.

The General Motors Corporation and Uzavtosanoat Joint-Stock Company are financing the project.

The specialists believe that the launching of the factory will give an opportunity to create 1.200 jobs immediately at production site and other 5,000 at related branches.

The Company also plans to establish a special training center to train and raise skills of the company’s employees, the report by the newspaper said.
