OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 February 2009 was announced, that confectionary factory named after N.K. Krupskaya, the biggest manufacturer of chocolate products in Saint-Petersburg, would become the first renter in the warehousing complex of A class at "AKM Logistics" in Shushary. Company has rented warehousing and office premises with the total area of 6 300 square meters for the period of 7 years.

"AKM Logistics" in Shushary is the first project of the factory of such a scale that united warehousing terminal with the logistics center of the developed infrastructure.

"In the process of searching for the warehousing premises one of the main requirements from our side was the possibility of installation of necessary equipment for warehouse conditioning, that is needed to create microclimate for confectionary (chocolate) products storage – says Marina Sergeeva, Logistics Director of Krupskaya factory, - Moreover, complex is equipped with the additional porch for medium and low tonnage transport vehicles, and that will allow us to speed up the process of shipping, thus increasing the number of the clients we can serve”.

There will be used 6-tier storage in the new warehouse (the last, 6-th tier is located on the level over 10 m) with the total amount of stored products about 8300 pallets (which is 3 times more than at “Volkovsky” warehouse). Products location will be done in accordance with the “point-of-use” storage, taking into consideration the product liquidity and shelf-life. This function will be implemented with the help of WMS system, that was elaborated according to the technical requirements of the Factory warehousing department.

Availability of a big zone for orders picking and integration (about 800 sq.m), 5 shipping gates and a ramp for loading and unloading of low tonnage vehicles with 2 additional gates are the most important advantages of this new warehouse. By using these advantages Factory plans to increase the speed of orders picking and loading.

At present moment warehouse department is in the process of racks installation and repair works on preparation of office premises for normal operation work. Final transition to operational work on the territory of the new warehouse will be finalized by February 15.

“Volkovsky” warehouse that at present moment belongs to Krupskaya is planned to be used for packaging materials storage in the nearest future.
