NBM’s Monetary Reserves Totaled USD 1 bln 477 mln as of February 6
OREANDA-NEWS On 17 February was announced, that the National Bank’s monetary reserves as of February 6 totaled USD 1 billion 477.39 million. According to the NBM’s data, in comparison with the previous week they reduced by USD 27 million (1.8%). As it was reported earlier, in January 2009 the National Bank’s monetary reserves decreased by USD 168.02 million (10%) As of December 31, 2008, the NBM’s monetary reserves totaled USD 1 billion 672,41 million. Monetary reserves of the National Bank of Moldova increased by USD 338.72 million (25.4%) in 2008.
As of December 31, 2007 they amounted to USD 1 billion 333.68 million. As of the end of the first quarter of 2008, monetary reserves totaled USD 1 billion 424.29 million, as of the end of the first half of 2008 - USD 1 billion 525.95 million. In early August 2008 monetary reserves exceeded USD 1.7 billion, at the end of September 2008 – they reached a new absolute historical maximum of USD 1.8 billion. Later, in conditions of the world financial-economic crisis, the tendency towards certain reduction in Moldova’s monetary reserves was marked.
