Transaero Redeems Debut Bonds
OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 February 2009 was announced, that Transaero-Finance redeems its 2.5 billion ruble 3 year bonded loan. Transaero Airlines acted as security for the loan and Rosbank served as both underwriter and paying agent.
Transaero values the trust of its investors and partners and does its best to prove it by honoring its financial commitments, especially while during the difficulties of the current financial crisis. Transaero has always paid scrupulous attention to fulfilling financial commitments. Transaero hopes that its sound credit history, made evident by the successful redemption of this debut bonded loan, will serve as a precedent for successful public loan program in the future.
In accordance with the prospectus, proceeds were used for business development, fleet expansion, the development of domestic and international route network and debt refinancing.
Transaero’s strategic 2005 to 2008 highlights:
Revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) grew from 5.28 million to a total of 17.55 million;
Passenger volume grew from 1.57 million to a total of over 4.85 million;
The airline fleet has grown from 16 to 42 aircraft;
The purchase of two Tupolev 214 aircraft on lease terms as part of the 2007 Russian Federal program supporting Russian aircraft industry;
Revenue has increased from 9.9 billion rubles to 37 billion rubles;
Transaero’s share of the Russian domestic air transport market grew from 6% to 14%.
