OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2009. The Board of Directors of Atomenergoprom OJSC has decided to open its first branch on the basis of the Integrated Procurement Department.

The Department will be abolished.

The mission of the branch will be to enhance the efficiency of the holding’s cooperation with monopoly suppliers of long-lead equipment for NPP construction projects. As was reported earlier, Atomenergoprom is the agent of NPP constructing companies in the field of long-lead equipment procurement.

“This activity has already proved its efficiency: in 2008 we analyzed costs, searched for alternative suppliers and optimized technical requirements – as a result we optimized the cost of orders,” says Yevgeny Sergeev, the head of the Integrated Procurement Department of Atomenergoprom OJSC, the director of the future branch.

The establishment of the branch is supposed to help to improve the control over the compliance with equipment supply deadlines.
