OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2009. SibCOTES’ official corporate website won 1st Place in the category “Business website: Fuel and Energy Complex” in the Ninth All-Russia Open Internet-Competition "Golden Site 2008". 

All winners of the Competition Finals were awarded their prizes at a festive ceremony held in Moscow on February 10, 2009. Over 600 Internet websites and portals from 7 Federal Districts throughout Russia and CIS took part in the Competition, which was held from October 2008 through January 2009. The participants competed in 30 categories.

Title sponsor of the Competition was Rambler, with Dmitry Kharitonov, Head of Rambler\'s Top100 acting as Chairperson of the Competition Jury in 2008.

General sponsor in the Internet was APORT, general partner - PC Magazine/Russian Edition, information partners included magazines "Computer Bild", “Webplanet”, "Terminal Ru”, “3DNews”, and the newspaper “Novyie Izvestiya".

The main objectives of the Competition were described as follows: application of the Internet as an efficient tool for professional work; improved attractiveness of the Russian Internet segment for investors and advertisers; publicity promotion of the Competition winners and participants; opportunity for the companies involved to receive feedback from their colleagues, experts, journalists and the public.

Assessment criteria for the competing websites included: access speed and traffic, user-friendly navigation, site design and content, technologies and innovations, business-model, and social importance of sites.

This year, in addition to the standard procedure of a two-stage voting - the winners of the Competition were selected by the Council of Experts and the Jury members - a Cup system was used, which included the Finals, semi-Finals, etc. The Competition participants and experts invited by the Organizing Committee could vote within this system as well.
