OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 February 2009 was announced, that on 9 February the NBU set the acting administration in Bank Kyiv till 9 August 2009. According to preliminary information Yuriy Dzhus, bank's vice-chairman, was appointed as the acting administrator.

Millennium Capital expected such situation with Bank Kyiv, since, firstly, it received a significant loan from the NBU (UAH 0.9bn)in December, which contributed to around 18% of its assets, seeming about significant liquidity problems of the bank. Secondly, in late 2008 Bank Kyiv significantly deteriorated its assets-liabilities structure, concentrating on retail deposits, which made it sensitive to population panic. Thirdly, the growth of the banks credit portfolio in 4Q2008 (up 17%) led to the decrease in the bank’s capitalization (down 60 b.p. to around 13%), despite the charter fund increase of UAH 45mn (up 25%).
