OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 February 2009 the NBU announced that it may recall the acting administration from Prominvestbank (PIB) in the nearest future. The decision is explained by the strengthening of PIB's capitalization, resulting from its 10 time charter fund increase to UAH 2.2bn. Recall that in December Russian Vnesheconombank purchased 75% of PIB for UAH 1.3bn.

Millennium Capital sees this news to be NEUTRAL, since except for UAH 5.9bn of NBU’s loans PIB has more than UAH 10bn of retail and corporate deposits, maturing in 2009. At the same time corporate loans of the bank take around 77% (UAH 21bn) in PIB’s assets and have low possibility of timely redemption. Therefore, Millennium Capital estimates that Vnesheconombank will have to invest around USD 1bn to PIB to repay its obligations, which is quite problematic in the liquidity shortage period.

Millennium Capital is an integrated financial services provider. Established in 2000 by a group of professionals with solid background in securities and corporate finance, Millennium Capital is now one of the major investment banking institutions.
