Largest Share of Moldovan Export Accounts for Textiles

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, it is 13,6% more than in 2007, followed by: foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco - 19.6% for US 312.2 million (+13.1%), products of vegetable origin - 13.2% for US 210.1 million (+29%), machinery and equipment, electrical equipment, audio-video equipment - 10,7% for US 171.1 million (88.6), non-precious metals and articles- 7,5% for US 119.1 million (+7.8%), mineral products - 4% for US 63.5 million (+11.1%), fats and oils of animal and plant origin - 3.9% for US 62.9 million (+13.8%), stone, plaster, cement, ceramics and glass - 3.3% for US 52.5 million (+2.4%), footwear, headgear, umbrellas- 3% for US 48 million (19.3%), plastic goods and rubber - 2,4% for US 38.2 million (+15.4%), chemical products - 2,1% for US 33.9 million (+25%), raw and tanned leather, fur - 2.1% for US 33.3 million (+14.7%), optical instruments, photographic, cinematographic, medical and surgical equipment and musical instruments - 1.8% for US 28.9 million (+23.3%), paper and cardboard- 1% for US16.7 million (-39.9%), transport - 1 % for US16.1 million (-14.2%).
These 15 product groups accounted for 95.3% of the total export from Moldova. In 2008 total export from Moldova amounted to US 1 billion 597.3 million (+19%).
