On 12 February 2009 was announced, that the Koryazhma Branch of Ilim Group has gone through the recertification audit verifying the compliance of its occupational safety efforts with the requirements set by Russian legislation. This proves the fact that the occupational safety system created at the Branch conforms to the standards formulated by the Ministry for Public Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation. Throughout 2008 ZAO Regionalnaya Expertnaya Kompaniya, an occupational safety certification body, assessed the Branch's occupational safety efforts for compliance with applicable Russian legislation. This expert company reviewed the steps taken to create a safe working environment, performance of the corresponding Branch department, workplace certification process, safety training and coaching for employees, as well as the system for testing occupational safety awareness. The Certificate of Compliance will be valid for 5 years, subsequently followed by the next Branch recertification. Furthermore, annual compliance audits will be held to reconfirm certificate eligibility. The mill went through its first occupational safety certification in 2003. The Koryazhma Branch of Ilim Group has also implemented an integrated quality, environment, occupational health and safety management system fully compliant with the relevant international standards.
