PAVA Reported on January 2009 Results
OREANDA-NEWS. On 12 February 2009 was announced, that the first month of the new year was an active period for PAVA and also the time to look at what had been achieved in 2008.
January started with a series of important developments. Two more structural units of PAVA, Kansky elevator and Chemrovka grain receiving enterprise, were accredited to store state intervention grain. The total storage capacity of these enterprises stands at 78,000 tonnes.
“Our structural units have in store a wide range of services. The technical capabilities ensure full safekeeping of grain without any losses of quality”, says Andrey Ananin, PAVA Director General.
In mid-January, Achinsk mill started producing protein-enriched vitaminized flour Zhitnitsa. To recap, this is an absolute innovation launched by PAVA in autumn 2008. Production started on Rebrikha mill, and soon after that the technology was introduced at Mikhailovsky mill.
At the end of the month, one of major Russian grain processors announced that it is developing a new variety of wheat cereal which has no analogues on the market. At present, the company is actively conducting a survey for defining target segments, and calculating potential sales volume.
Closing 2008 figures were given a positive estimate. Export shipments were up by 77.5%, and positions on the domestic market were strengthened as well.
Sales grew in such a tricky segment of the flour market as consumer-size products. The increase was accounted for by enlarging shipments to long-standing partners along with expanding the client base.
Confectionery plant Zauralsky Kreker, integrated in PAVA structure, demonstrated a 10% growth of sales. The geography of shipments was expanded both within the country and abroad. It was the first time that cookies and crackers were shipped to Armenia, Irkutsk and Sverdlovsk regions, and, remarkably - the market of Moscow.
