Trade Balance Deficit of Moldova Amounted to US 3 bln 301,6 mln
OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2009. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in January-December 2008, the negative trade balance of Moldova amounted to 32,6% vs. 36,4% at the same period of 2007.
In 2008, the volume of Moldovan export has increased by 19% - up to US 1 billion 597.3 million. Import has grown by 32,8% - up to US 4 billion 898.9 million. Moldovan export to CIS countries increased by 14, 1% - up to US 627.9 million, to EU countries – by 20,7% - up to US 820.1 million.
Import from CIS amounted to US 1 billion 737.2 million, increasing by 30,3%, import from EU has grown by 25,2% - up to US 2 billion 105 4 million.
Trade balance deficit of Moldova with CIS countries increased by 41,6% - up to US 1 billion 109,3 million, with EU- by 28,3% - up to US 1 billion 285,3 million.
In 2008, the largest trade deficit of Moldova was registered with: Ukraine (US 696.2 million), followed by: Russia (US 347.7 million), China (US 323.2 million), Germany (US 300.7 million), Romania (US 255 million), Turkey (US 198.5 million), Italy (US 139, 1 million), Belarus (US 106.3 million), France (US 82 million) and Japan (US 81.7 million).
