Bank of Lithuania Reported on Its Reserve Assets in January
OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2009. At the end of January 2009, official reserve assets made up LTL 15.0 billion (EUR 4.3 billion). Throughout January they decreased by LTL 780.8 million or 4.9%, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.
MFI deposits with the Bank of Lithuania and currency in circulation, which went down respectively by LTL 582.7 million and 510 million, pushed official reserve assets down, as well as a government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania, which melted by LTL 108.2 million.
At the same time the decrease in official reserve assets was contained because of a hike in the external liabilities of the BoL and other factors by LTL 225.3 million and LTL 194.7 million, respectively.
Official reserve assets data for February 2009 are to be released on 6 March 2009.
