Moldova Ranks 8th among CIS Countries on Inflation Rate
OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2009. In 2008, Moldova ranks the eighth among CIS countries on the inflation rate as compared to the previous year.
According to CIS Statistical Committee, the inflation rate in Moldova amounted to 12,7%. Average consumer price index in CIS made 117%.
The highest rate of inflation last year was registered in Ukraine - 25,2%, Kyrgyzstan - 24.5%, Azerbaijan - 20.8% and Tajikistan - 20,4%. Consumer prices growth in Kazakhstan made 17%, in Belarus - 14.8%, Russia - 14,1%, Georgia - 10%, Armenia - 9%. There are no data available for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
