OREANDA-NEWS. On February 03, 2009 within the framework of the working visit the delegation of the RF Ministry of Defense in the lead of Vladimir Anatolievich Boldyrev, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the land forces, visited the enterprises of weapons and military equipment Division of "Tractor Plants Holding" - "Kurgan Machine Works" JSC and "Special Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering" JSC, reported the press-centre of Tractor Plants Holding.

The aim of the visit of the delegation was to become familiar with the work on execution of the Govdeforder for the year 2009, to define perspectives on further manufacturing capacity of special production, and on creation of new models of special production.

The delegation of the Ministry of Defense was met by Albert Vladimirovich Bakov, the Vice-president of "Tractor Plants Holding". He noted: "Despite the withholding of implementation of several projects of the holding, which are at their early stage, "Tractor Plants Holding" continues to finance the key investment projects including NIOKR as well as acquisition of the new equipment.

A current policy of the holding administration, within the framework of the anti-recessionary measures being taken, allows its enterprises to ensure stable execution of assigned tasks within the Govdeforder, and to diminish costs of production while increasing the operating efficiency due to integrated upgrading of enterprise capacity. As the result of joint work an overall quantity of military oriented output in 2009 within the framework of the Govdeforder will have a 40 increase".

For the last 2 or 3 years there have been marked a tendency of augmentation in the Govdeforder for "Kurganmashzavod" JSC. An augmentation in 2008 in comparison with the year 2007 constituted 25 despite a considerable augmentation of the special equipment capacity, which was already achieved in 2007.

"Tractor Plants Holding" is purposeful in execution of technical upgrading of industrial potential of "Kurgan Machine Works" JSC, which is aimed to increase production of the special equipment as well as essential non-defense products. The overall level of capital investments for the last 3 years constituted approximately 825, 3 mln. rubles.

In the course of a tour of the enterprise the representatives of the Ministry of Defense visited the aggregate production, fabricated constructions, mechanical assembly, assembly and delivery productions, became familiar with the stationary exposition of the output special equipment. At the closed conference there were also discussed questions concerning development and manufacturing of advanced models of military tracked vehicles of light category according to mass.

According to Vladimir Anatolievich Boldyrev, the Commander-in-Chief of the RF land forces, a new combat strength is being formed at present in the land forces of the RF. It intends armory of all subdivisions with contemporary, high-powered, and active military equipment, which is sufficient to execute the most difficult tasks in any available conditions.

Adopted by the army today is a large quantity of BMP-2, which was one of the best and essential machines at the proper time. However, within the present-day conditions in order to improve an armed vehicles park there is a necessity to implement its complete modernization.

Also in this context the army is much interested in the BMP-3 and those directions, which are executed now by the Russian machine-building holding in order to perfect this machine. V.A. Boldyrev also mentioned: "For the last 2 years a considerable progress have been noticed at "Kurganmashzavod" in terms of works on improvement of combat characteristics of machines. I am sure that the production collective of the enterprise and the design bureau is going to cope with those tasks, which are assigned by the Ministry of Defense of RF".
