OREANDA-NEWS. February 06, 2009. “Sibir” Airlines, Russia’s largest carrier by the number of passengers transported on domestic air routes, has announced the results of its activity for the year 2008, reported the press-centre of Sibir Airlines.

In 2008 the services of OJSC “Sibir” Airlines” were preferred by 5,892,548 passengers.

In comparison to the year 2007, the total volume of passenger transportation had increased by 3.4%.

The airline enjoys a persistent leadership position on the domestic air routes. In 2008 “Sibir” Airlines carried 4,103,432 passengers on flights across Russia, which by 14% exceeds the figures for 2007.

The quantity of cargo and mail carried in 2008 on “Sibir” Airlines flights had increased by 24.9% as compared to 2007.

In 2008 “Sibir” aircrafts made 51,422 flights over Russia and abroad. This is 7% more than in the year 2007.
