Russian-Norwegian Seminar Held in Petrozavodsk
OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 February 2009 was announced, that Russian-Norwegian seminar on introduction and estimation of efficiency of the ART Aggression Replacement Training program was held on February 3-5, on the basis of special educational establishment for children and teenagers with deviant behavior Special Comprehensive School N8.
In 2008 within the scope of the agreement between the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Social Development of the republic and Regional Department on Children, Teenagers and Families of Northern Norway experts were trained to work with children and teenagers with aggressive behavior under the ART program. The program is intended to teach instructors to work with children on the basis of aggression decrease by means of children's social skills development and regulation of the emotional behavior.
More than 30 chiefs and experts of establishments of education and social protection of the republic have taken part in the training. More than one third of them are tutors and teachers of the special school N8, as well as experts of Nadezhda (Hope) rehabilitation center, center of diagnostics and consultating, Karelian State Pedagogical University and Professional Development Institute.
During this year the trained experts and Norwegian partners led by the Senior adviser of the Department on Children, Teenagers and Families of Northern Norway Paul Christian Bergstrem approved the program on the basis of the Special Comprehensive School N8 and estimated efficiency of social, therapeutic and rehabilitation work within this program.
