OREANDA-NEWS. February 06, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) issued a determination to "Khanty-Mansiisk Pharmacy" OJSC on exercising the actions aimed at supporting competition on the retail market of medicine, medical products and related goods in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District – Yugra, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In particular, "Khanty-Mansiisk Pharmacy" OJSC is instructed to:

- Keep participating in the government target programmes related to the Additional Medicine Provision to the Population, as well as provision of superpotent, narcotic, psychotropic drugs, oncologic and antituberculous medicaments, dispensed on privileged and free prescriptions;

- Continue providing assortment of medicines and medical products under the brand names at the level no less that in the two quarters, preceding the transaction, except when termination of production and supplies of medicines was caused by the factors beyond control of "Khanty-Mansiisk Pharmacy" OJSC;

- Do not close production departments in those pharmacies, where they functioned at the time of the transaction, without preliminary consent of the Regional Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District - Yugra.

According to the determination, "Khanty-Mansiisk Pharmacy" OJSC must also inform the Regional Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District on increasing prices for the medicines sold through the pharmacy network owned or used by "Khanty-Mansiisk Pharmacy" OJSC.

FAS Russia issued a determination to "Khanty-Mansiisk Pharmacy" OJSC due to granting its petition for acquiring 100% voting shares of: "Megion Pharmacy" OJSC, " Oktaybrskaya Pharmacy" OJSC, "Yugra Pharmacy" OJSC, "Urai Pharmacy" OJSC, "Beryozovsk Pharmacy" OJSC, "Langepass Pharmacy" OJSC, " Khanty-Mansiisk District Pharmacy" OJSC, "Beloyarsk Pharmacy" OJSC, "Raduzhinsk Pharmacy" OJSC, "Sovetsky Pharmacy" OJSC, "Surgutpharmatsia" OJSC, "Nyagan'sk Pharmacy" OJSC and "Kondisnk Pharmacy" OJSC.

Validity period of the determination - five years upon completing the transaction.

FAS Russia points out that anticompetitive actions on this market can result in unjustified limitation of assortment and increased prices for medicines and medical products.
