VTB Group Increases Support to Khabarovsk Krai Enterprises
OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2009. In 2008, VTB Group’s investment in the real sector of Khabarovsk Krai totaled about RUB 21.1 billion. VTB’s corporate loan portfolio in this region increased 29% (RUB 4.7 billion) in 2008, reported the press-centre of VTB.
VTB develops cooperation with the region despite challenging economic environment. In October-December 2008, the Bank provided a total of RUB 5.6 billion in loans to Khabarovsk Krai enterprises (this amounts to 20% of all loans granted by VTB in the region in 2008).
The funds were allocated to key engineering, transport, construction, food, gold-mining and trade companies. The Bank furnished another RUB 1 billion in loans to Khabarovsk Krai enterprises in the first month of 2009.
Under the crisis, VTB actively assists in carrying out the Government policy, supporting the real economy in all major industries and regions of Russia. The Bank efficiently finances key domestic industries and enterprises in accordance with the priorities set by the Russian Government.
VTB plans to increase lending to major regional businesses and provide them with instruments to mitigate risks during the crisis.

VTB Group is a net lender to Khabarovsk Krai. As of 1 January 2009, the Group’s investment in the region’s economy is twice as large as the funds raised from its enterprises. In 2009, VTB plans to increase its loan portfolio by more than 30%.
