OREANDA-NEWS. February 05, 2009. In 2008, Moldova ranks the eighth among CIS countries on the industrial output growth as compared to the previous year.

According to CIS Statistical Committee, last year the volume of industrial output of Moldova in constant prices grew by 0,7%.

The largest increase in the industrial production was registered in Kyrgyzstan - 14,9%, followed by Uzbekistan - 12,4% (January-September 2008 to January-September 2007), Belarus - 10.8%, Azerbaijan - 6%, Russia and Kazakhstan - 2,1%, Armenia - 2 %. Industrial output in Tajikistan and Ukraine fell by 4% and 3.1%, respectively.

There are no data available on Georgia and Turkmenistan. The average growth of industrial output in CIS made 2%.
