GRASYS to Take Part in International Workshop
OREANDA-NEWS. February 5, 2009. GRASYS plans to take part in the workshop "Margarines, Mayonnaises, Spreads, Food Supplements" slated for February 11-12, 2009. The workshop is included in the agenda of the 16th international exhibition of food products and feedstock "PRODEXPO-2009" and will take place in Pavilion 1 (exposition of oil and fat products).
The workshop is organized by the All-Russia Fat Research Institute (VNIIZH), the Oil & Fat Union of Russia and the media company Center Product.
The topic to be delivered by GRASYS is entitled "Use of nitrogen plants for inert media generation by storage and packing of oil and fat products". The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that in recent years, there has been an increasingly large number of companies in Russia using modified atmosphere — inert gas based media — for storage, transfer and packing of food products in inert environment.
Many enterprises involved In food production widely use modified atmosphere for storage and packing of such staples as butter, cheeses, juices, carbonated beverage, yogurts, coffee, nuts, potato chips etc. Use of modified atmosphere — inert gas based media — in oil and fat industry allows multiply increasing product shelf life, significantly enhance the external appearance preservation measures and improve taste properties.
