OREANDA-NEWS. February 5, 2009. The Gomel oblast enterprises producing construction materials will increase their capacity by 20% in 2009, Vladimir Nadtochayev, Deputy Chairman of the Oblast Executive Committee said at the opening of the Building a House special exhibition in Gomel.

This will be achieved due to the installation of new machinery and the reconstruction of the existing production lines. The region’s construction industry will be developed in three main areas. The most important projects will be implemented at the enterprises of large-scale house-building. In particular, the commissioning of a new production line at Svetlogorsk house-building factory in Q1 2009 will allow to produce over 50,000 cubic meters of reinforced concrete constructions. In 2009, the reconstruction of Mozyr house-building factory where two imported lines with the capacity of 70,000 cubic meters were introduced in December 2008 will be completed. The first stage of the reconstruction of Gomel house-building factory has been launched which will allow to increase its capacity up to 80,000 cubic meters of constructions per year. The reconstruction of Zhlobin house-building factory is to be launched, too; it will be finished in 2010.

According to Vladimir Nadtochayev, the implementation of all the above-mentioned projects will help build over 1 million cubic meters of housing and fulfill the targets of the five-year plan.
