OREANDA-NEWS. February 03, 2009. The Government of Ukraine is ready to help financially the Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company to get out of the crisis. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko declared at a meeting on problem issues of the Kharkiv Aviation Plant.

“Today, we must state that without assistance of the Government, State Budget and public banks, without drafting serious strategies of reformation, it will be impossible to rouse this company,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.

Yulia Tymoshenko informed that situation at the plant is so grave that company is not capable to implement construction orders and selling of 55 aircrafts at the moment. “The company is in very difficult condition, with deep financial disbalance, requiring additional intervention,” the Prime Minister noted.

Yulia Tymoshenko reminded that 2009 State Budget provides 37bn hryvnias which the Government can allocate under state guarantees to attract foreign investments, “We can fulfill these guarantees to get up the plant”.

At the same time, the Head of Government noted that after getting out of the crisis situation, the Kharkiv Aviation Plant should start earning an independent commercial living, “We should know that government’s aid is non-permanent and after this, the plant stands on its own feet and backs up the state bringing in revenues to the budget. That couldn't be that public injections into such unique company be endless”.
