OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 February 2009 SOGAZ Insurance Group announced the renaming of the insurance medical organization Gazprommedstrakh. The company’s new official name is OJSC SOGAZ-Med.

SOGAZ Insurance Group announces the renaming of the insurance medical organization Gazprommedstrakh. The company’s new official name is OJSC SOGAZ-Med.

In late December, 2008, the company received documents to certify its change of name issued by state registration authorities, including a Certificate of Record in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities on registering a revised Articles of Association, and а Tax Registration Certificate for OJSC SOGAZ-Med. Thus the company’s renaming procedure has been legally completed.

According to Dmity Tolstov, General Director of OJSC SOGAZ-Med, the former name had ceased to reflect in full measure the specific features of the company’s current operations. “Over the past several years since our company joined SOGAZ Group, such major organizations as Rosneft, Russian Railways, Rosenergoatom, and the Administrations of dozens of constituencies of the Russian Federation have become our clients. Accordingly, the share of Gazprom employees out of the total number insured has been steadily declining,” says Mr. Tolstov. “At the same time, SOGAZ Group in general has been expanding to include other companies. The need has arisen for a well-defined and uniform structure of SOGAZ’s umbrella brand to be recognizable and comprehensible for consumers. SOGAZ’s brand has made a good showing in the insurance market, and so we stand to gain from this renaming.”

He also noted that the company’s renaming process will not affect its clients in any way. The insurance policies issued earlier will not be replaced, and will be valid until they expire. Concurrently, the company will issue SOGAZ-Med’s policies to its new clients beginning in January, 2009.

It should be noted that in early November 2008, SOGAZ Insurance Group announced the start of its re-branding and the renaming of Gazprommedstrakh to OJSC SOGAZ-Med. An official resolution to this effect was made by the company’s shareholder (OJSC SOGAZ) on December 15, 2008, with all required documents subsequently filed with the tax authorities.
