OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 February 2009 was announced, that on January 29 Sergey Katanandov met with the President of PKC GROUP Finnish holding Harri Suutari.

PKC GROUP is the proprietor of four enterprises operating in the territory of Karelia, of which the most famous is Karhokos. These enterprises are a bright example of successful international cooperation and efficiency of investments in the Republic of Karelia. However, the world financial crisis has cast its gloomy shadow on them.

According to Harri Suutari, against the background of the crisis development there are financial conditions the extremely adverse for further work of the enterprises. The holding is compelled to search for ways to reduce expenses and minimize risks for preservation of competitiveness under conditions of the crisis. To discuss these issues he has come to Sergey Katanandov.

Head of the republic gave a fair hearing to the information of the company President. The parties have discussed opportunities of joint measures to take to preserve enterprises. Sergey Katanandov has especially emphasized importance of enterprises of the holding for economy of Karelia and the citownty of Kostomuksha, though he in no haste with specific solutions. In his opinion, the anti-recessionary commission which working group led by Minister of Finance A.Kolesov will come to Kostomuksha should study the situation all over again at the enterprises. Then the Government of Karelia will make its decision, relying on conclusions and recommendations of the commission. Head of the republic has made the corresponding orders.
